Hello Friends and Dog Lovers,

My name is Albert Russell Owner and Operator of Russell's K9 Academy here in Daytona Beach, Florida.

I am a Third Generation Dog Trainer and I have been working with Man's Best Friend since I was a young boy.  I started by owning my first dog when I was 5 years old.  My Grandfather was a Competition Dog Trainer and a Gun Dog Trainer as well as my Father.  As a young boy I had a passion to work with dogs and as I grew older into my teenage years, my passion to work with man's best friend grew even stronger and we as a family never had less than 20 dogs and they were all Work dogs.  The dogs were used for Sport and Competition hunts and my Grandfather would go on competition hunts in the United States and Canada to challenge other competitors.  My Grandfather's dogs were trained in Obedience and his Grand Night Championship dogs were the envy of his competitors because they would always work on command.  My Grandfather had trained chamionship hunting dogs and swimming dogs.  I learned by watching and observing my Grandfather and Father handle and work with complete compassion towards training and preparing their dogs for success. 

I then had the privilege  of working with a K9 Trainer who retired from the Military who served in the Vietnam War.  He trained Devil Dogs for the Military and I had the privilege of working hands on starting out with my personal dog named Dino.  Dino was a Shephard mix for personal protection. We started out into basic obedience and then moved into advanced obedience before Dino was tested and promoted into K9 Protection Training.

I had the privilege after Dino graduated from his training to continue on working with the Trainer for 2 1/2 years.  Unfortunately my Trainer and Teacher passed away due to cancer from Agent Orange that was used by the U.S. Military as part of its herbicidal warfare progam during the Vietnam War.  I am very grateful and thankful of having the opportunity to work with him.  

As time went on after learning more on how to work with dogs there was something missing.  Then I started to research Wolves and Wild dogs and learned what was missing and what was missing was that Wolves and Dogs have a Universal Language and their Physchology greatly differs from ours and they have a hierarchy which is a pecking order of ranking and chain of command which consists of the Alpha, Beta, Testor, Mid - ranking dogs all the way down to the Omega dog.  They all have a different job in the pecking order to work as one unit.  To my surprise the Beta dog is the bodyguard and enforcer of the rules, boundaries and limitations for the Alpha dogs. The Testor goes around to test the other dogs in the pack to make sure they are complying with the rules, boundaries and limitations of the pecking order and the Testor goes back to inform the Beta dog who is the Enforcer to correct the dog that is breaking the rules in the pack so that there is order and compliance with the rules, boundaries and limitations in the pack.  I could go on and on but it would take hours upon hours to explain all that I have learned about Wolves and Wild dogs.

Next, let's talk about Domesticated dogs.  Now what I did was put together a pack of dogs to study by watching and observing their body language and energy to understand their Universal language so that I could learn how to communicate their language back to them and take on the Alpha role as their Pack leader because dogs sign language through body gesturing 98% of the time.  This helped me to understand their language and I knew by understanding the Universal language of dogs that this would definately serve me in my training skills and get desired results quicker than conventional K9 training. 

Today with the use of my philosophy I have saved hundreds over hundreds of dogs from being Euthanized after other Trainers and Veterinarians say that the dogs were not fit to live in our society unfortunately this happens every day and this causes our Shelters across our country to become filled to their capacity due to not understanding the Universal Language of Dogs and due to this over 4 million animals in our shelters are being euthanized on a yearly basis, for me this is a very serious problem. This why training is so important for Man's best friend and owner because it will save lives.  

This is why I have dedicated my life to teach and train people on how to become the best in working  and training their dogs.

My Services I offer are Basic Obedience, Advanced off leash Obedience Training and K9 Rehabilitation for all life stages and all Breeds.  Puppies, Adolescent dogs, Adult dogs and Senior dogs.  My K9 Rehabilitation Program is designed for dogs that have Dominance Aggression, Dominance Possessive Aggression, Fearful Agression, Red Zone Dogs, Dog Abuse, Phobias, Aniexty, Obessions/Fixation, Hyperactive and Low Self Esteem Dogs and for Military Dogs with PTSD coming back from Warfare.

I Train at your home on your dogs own turf or I can bring your dog into my home for Bootcamp and for most K9 Rehabilitation is done here at my Bootcamp and while they are here they are being Socialized with my Pack of Service Dogs who communicate and teach new dogs that come in for Rehab to learn how to communicate by understanding their Universal Language of Dogs because alot of times especially Aggression towards other dogs is due to a lack of understanding their own language due to poor socialization at puppy stage of life and undeveloped psychology.  Most notorious breed know for this are Pitt Bulls unfortunately and they are really a great breed of dogs!  I love working with Gladiator breeds!

Thank you for taking your time in reading about my reasons to help Man's Best Friend because I believe that there is no such thing as a Bad Breed or Dog in general just a misunderstood dog. Due to the lack of understanding the Universal Language of Dogs.
